???? "Seek out Alwyn, the river guardian of Verdale." The village elder instructs, "He should be able to help on the great journey before you. Now hurry, time is of the essence!" You nod, leaving the hall at once. After grabbing your satchel of things you'd need from your room in the inn, you leave for Verdale River. After several hours of romping through the thick green underbrush of the woods, you finally reach your destination. The cold water swirls in the rapids before you, drowning out most of the other sounds. "What'cha need, kid?" A voice calls from behind, making you start. “Show yourself!” You say as you whirl around, pulling your dagger from its sheath strapped at your side. “Now now, kid, no need to get all stabby-stabby. I don't mean you any harm.” “I said, show yourself.” “Fine, don't get your tunic in a twist.” A hand taps you on your shoulder. Turning around again, you come face to face with a pair of bright, sea-green eyes. After you put your knife back in it's place, the man holds his hand out for you to shake. “The name’s Alwyn” He says as you look him over “You’re.. a fish god?” “Ha ha, very funny. I’m a river guardian, kid. And, let me guess, hero, you’re going to ask If I can go on some cross-nation wild goose chase for some unfathomable evil?” You nod. “Well, you’re in luck, kid.” ???? Generic skin is generic. I really liked writing the story for this though, despite how much dialogue I crammed in there. Hope you enjoy!
