Dame Arc de Sang (Lady Blood Bow) Sit near me child and come close. Let me tell you a tale of old. A tale from a land called Valore, where the seven seas were a battle ground of monsters, men and those in between… There was once a great war between the two most powerful pirate gangs of the age: The Grey Ghost and the Siren's daughter. Aye they were mighty, powerful ships, with more fearsome captains. One of 'em being ol' Abattu who was the captain of the grey ghost. He had a eagle's eye and a steady hand that created a deadly pair. He could hit a man between the eyes from as far as the bullet would shoot. The other was Eau Rouge, captain of The Siren's Daughter and undoubtedly the stronger and more deadly of the two. He was a vicious man who would kill you for simply using the wrong tone of voice while speakin' to him. He fought his enemies with nothing but a dagger and an enchanted bow that would kill a man with a single arrow. He was known for his fearsome drunken rampages where he would throw crew members to the sharks for the fun of it. His brutal ways were what earned him the name of Eau Rouge. Conflict had started between Abattu and Eau Rouge over territory in Valorian waters were often traveled by transport vessels carrying rare and beautiful goods such as gold, fabrics, food and weapons. No matter who the winner was to be, it would undoubtedly be the downfall of Valorian economy and trade. The king at the time was a pompous and lazy man. He had used nearly all his men fighting the pirate kings and his supplies were exhausted. At a loss he called for the help of the most feared pirate hunter of the age: Marie Acord, the she wolf of the sea. She was a head hunter that targeted pirates who was arguably too good at her job. Most people say she had onwards of 90 kills under her belt, however the actual count was rumoured to be in the hundreds. The king had offered her half of what ever loot was on the pirates ships if she succeeded. Marie accepted and with what was left of the kings army, she set off to find Abattu and Eau Rougue. As Marie and her army sailed closer, the sounds of bullets and cannons firing could be heard in the distance. Abattu and Eau Rogue were going at each other harder than ever. Both crews were exhausted from weeks of unending battle, yet they continued to hack at each other in fear of their captains' wrath if they were to stop. Eau Rouge was a cunning man cable of turning the tables at the drop of a hat. He was waiting patiently for the right moment to strike at ol' Abattu so he couldn't recover. He stood behind his crew that were manning the cannons counting the time between cannon rounds from the Grey Ghost. "Load yer cannons lads, and get ready!" He yelled. As the crew of they Grey Ghost began to reload their cannons, Eau Rouge got sight of the right moment to strike. "Ready boys? Aim, FIRE!". A deafening blast bellowed across the surface of the sea. Cannon balls ripped through the right side of the Grey Ghost, sending metal, wood and men flying in every direction. Abattu ran out of his quarters to inspect the damage. The ship was creaking violently, and had begun to tilt dangerously sideways. This made Eau Rouge's mouth twist into a crooked and wicked smile; his enemy was now open and vulnerable. "Charge!" ordered Eau Rouge, and his men sent grapples across to the enemies ship. They swung across screaming battle cries as blades met bone and and crews clashed. “Abattu! where are you ya old rat?” called Eau Rouge mockingly as he boarded the now ruined ship. “Over here coward” answered Abattu. The old captain gripped his gun in one hand and a cutlas tightly in the other. “Nice ship you have huh? Real strong cannons” he joked. “Aye she is a beauty” chuckled Eau Rouge "I would say the same of your ship, but well you see…”. Eau gestured to the wreckage scattered across the deck. “I suppose yer’ll be lookin’ for a fight then?” sighed Abattu. “Am I that easy to read?” asked Eau Rouge as he drew his dagger. Suddenly, he charged at Abattu and swiped at the old pirate’s head. Abattu dodged his blade and prepared his own. The fight between the two was a sight to behold. Abattu’s blade was considerably larger than Eau’s, yet the fight seemed fairly well matched. Abattu was becoming frail in his old age, and Eau Rouge had made a dangerous decision with his choice of weapon. Several of the crew from each side had stopped their fight to watch the battle. The two pirate kings fought for about five minutes straight before the tables turned in a twist of events. Abattu was becoming dreadfully tired and his legs and arms started to give out, and Eau Rouge had noticed this. Suddenly, he kicked forward at Abattu and swept his legs out from underneath him. The old pirate fell to the deck and landed on his back with a sickening crunch. Abattu gasped for air as Eau Rouge stepped toward his body. “Let’s settle this once and for all, shall we old man” Eaue Rouge asked through gritted teeth, and with a quick swipe of his dagger, he took the pirate’s life. In the midst of the fight, Marie Acord’s army had arrived at the battle and had begun to sneak up beside Abattu’s ship inside small dinghies. Marie ordered the kings men to throw ropes up the side of the ship, and as soon as they had a way up to the top deck they began to climb. When they reached the top, they ran in to join the fight. Many of the pirates started to shout and yell with fear. “Hell, it’s Acord!”, “Run if you want to keep your head attached to your neck! The she wolf’s here!”. Marie and her army advanced forward, cutting through the walls of pirates. Marie looked up to the navigator’s platform and saw Eau Rogue standing there menacingly. Clutching Abattu’s head, he raised his arm above his head displaying his trophy. “looking for someone princess?” he taunted. “Surrender now or face the consequences. I am not known for my mercy so much as my lack of it. Step down and acknowledge your wrong doings” called Marie. “I’m afraid that won’t be happening me love” he sneered “I shall take great pleasure in taking yer head as well”. Marie chuckled, smiled and said “we’ll see about that”. Marie unsheathed her blade and ran at the pirate, who was already firing arrows in her direction. She was dashing left and right, dodging arrows and stray bullets from the battle around her. She was about 5 metres from Eau Rouge when he fired an arrow that was aimed perfectly at her heart. Suddenly she swung her sword out in front of her, and split the arrow in two mid-air just before it hit her. This shocked Eau Rouge, who had never seen anyone block an arrow so perfectly aimed so quickly. It seemed almost impossible. Stunned, he hesitated and lost his focus. Marie got the advantage on him as she struck him with her fist, using all the force she could muster. Lights danced before Rouge's eyes as he shook himself out of it and got a grip of himself. He tried in vain to defend him self with his dagger, but Marie's advances were too powerful for him, and he began to loose ground quickly. She struck his arm with her blade and the pirate king screamed in pain. He dropped his dagger and fell the his knees before the huntress. "P-please.. don't.." he gasped. Marie stared down at him, expressionlessly. "I pity you Eau Rouge. May god have mercy on you" she said. The sun glinted on her sword as the swiped at the pirate king's neck. The pirates lowered their weapons and stared in disbelief at Marie Acord. She had slain the great Eau Rouge. Marie bent down and picked up the enchanted bow, and strapped it across her back. she, and what was left of the kings army left to board the Siren's Daughter, and used the ship to sail back to the kingdom of Valore. The king honoured Marie with a knighthood for her triumph. After collecting her rewards, she set sail one more to find her next target. Taking a new weapon and a new name, Dame Arc de Sang was cemented into the history of the legends of the sea. ~Art and story by me (Max: Devoid-)~
