i can't even begin to express how upset i am with carrie fisher's death. she was so unashamed of her mental illnesses and she inspired so many other mentally ill people, including myself, to be comfortable with the fact that we struggle and that we shouldn't be embarrassed of it. she expressed how angry she was about all of the misogyny she faced from George Lucas and other people she had to work with. She was very open about how she was forced to lose weight and how she was extremely uncomfortable with the whole "slave leia" thing but they made her do it anyways, and how pissed she is that they made so much merchandise with her in the metal bikini just to cater to sexist, horny, nerd boys who got off to the idea of having a sex slave. she went through so much shit for being a woman and being mentally ill but she never once was ashamed of herself and i will forever respect and look up to her for that. thank you so much beautiful space mom, rest well and may the force be with you
