The most experienced warriors in a dwarf army are the longbeards. They have slain more enemies, fought in more wars, and this is all shown in the ridiculous length of their beards. They are also quite well known for grumbling about how the goblins around now days are smaller and weaker or how the young dwarves do not respect their elders. Still don't take my word for it, I'm not a dwarf (even though sometimes I have thought about it).
