Power in Anonymity - 6th skin description

Welcome to my contest entry. If you don't get it, look at the front-left corner of the face. Why this skin pertains to the themeI juggle several online identities among several sites. (Excluding this one of course, as puppets are illegal) Each alias has one common motif that is subtly placed in some inconspicuous spot. Namely, an anonymous, or Guy Fawkes, mask. Thus, this skin is a tribute to the subtle hint that connects all of the online personas that are BIO. As a bit of a primer, I thought I'd write an introduction about why I love this contest theme. I've heard complaints from several individuals in regards to this month's theme. These individuals claim that this theme is restrictive and eliminates much possibility for innovative creativity. I digress. This theme begs for a very creative interpretation. I hope I have delivered. Now to the fun stuff. The Power of AnonymityA name has always been known as something of power. It grants one the capability to call upon another, and to refer to them in conversation with others. This power is at the root of culture, in fact, naming is one of the first things any human being experiences in this world. The irony lies in the power found in anonymity; Not only is knowing the name of another powerful, but being unknown to said other takes away their power over you. In this way, the internet is almost like a leveling ground for all. No one has to be known if they do not care to, and thus, no one has power over anyone. Until people learn to maintain their persona. This central personality that lives online makes up a person's identity in the eyes of the anonymous. So, in a way, by defining yourself, by letting people know who you are, you are granting them a sort of power over you. It's for this reason that I like to maintain several different personas. I am, on any one site or forum, never the same person. I can play with little attributes of language and mannerisms to appear to be different. It is in this way that I can become anything I want. I could tell you that I am related to a dictator, or that I know the address of Atlantis, and no one would be the wiser. As it was so concisely put in, "The Point," a short cartoon featuring music by The Beetles, "A point in every direction is the same as no point at all". Is the capability of everything, the capability of nothing? I believe so. I am an enigma. The modern phenomenon of anonymity by identity is a powerful force used by hackers and other infultrationists (Yeah I just made up that word, but it fits well, so.) on a very regular basis. That's all I guess. "Any proof for nothing. No proof for anything." This skin may be re-posted or shared elsewhere as long as adequate credits* are given to me, you may not remix or make any derivative works based on this skin, and you absolutely cannot use this skin for commercial purposes of any kind. *Adequate credit includes my name (BIO) and a link to the source of the skin (My Profile)
