my entry for the contest - story & art below - "art" (i'm not good at anatomy) looking back, it looks a lot like he's wearing casual clothes, which wasn't my intention but whatever lmaoStory November 6, 1673 There he stood, with a skull as shiny as diamonds. He was clad in a rich, red robe, accompanied by a set of torn clothes exposing his blindingly golden bones. His presence was highly intimidating and pressuring. The entire crew looked on with what could only be complete and utter awe at what they beheld. With a loud, clear voice, the mystical figure which stood above them, as if to assert dominance, asked them if they desired anything at all, and with little to no hesitation, the crew yelled in almost perfect synchronization, "We wish for infinite riches!" In a somewhat presumptuous tone, the golden one replied, "Excellent decision, come now, I shall guide you to the exact location of the riches.” Unable to contain their excitement, the crew immediately turned the ship around into the direction in which he signalled. Several hours had past, some of the crew grew weary, others were anxious to press onwards. When suddenly, as if on cue, rain abruptly started to pour down rapidly onto the sailors' faces like pellets. Overhead, the golden skeleton was nowhere to be seen and way up above was a thick layer of rough, black clouds. Furious waves of rage began to form below the ship, toying with the ship as if it were literally a child's toy, flinging the crew across the "floor", which in this case was whatever surface gravity had flung them upon. It was apparent at this moment to the sailors, that they had been led astray to nothing other than a vicious maelstrom that was not soon enough apparent to the them, otherwise they would have turned the ship around earlier. The entire crew, faces struck with pure despair and abhorrence, knew it was over. They had completely played into the hands of The Great Goldenbones. The whole of the ship along with the crew had vanished into the black abyss.
