''Stay gold Ponyboy.. stay gold..'' -Johnny Cade So, yes, I'm alive. After not posting skins for a while, I finally decided to post a skin! Don't know why, just felt like it. Anyways, hope you enjoy this skin, I love the Outsiders and Johnny Cade is my favorite character. As always, enjoy! Johnny Cade is a sixteen year old Greaser. He is known as the gang's pet to the Curtis Gang, as he is abused and neglected at his home by his parents, and his only family are the Curtis Gang. He is described as small for his age, and has huge dark eyes like a 'puppy that has been kicked too many times'. He has dark black hair that is so long that it falls as shaggy bangs in his face. Ponyboy states that people believe Johnny is dumb and not school-smart, as he's failed school many times, but he proves to be very intelligent. He comes up with a plan to get out of the murder situation with Bob Sheldon. He also deciphered the meaning of the book Gone With the Wind. He appears to have a good heart as he doesn't like fighting, and stays out of most fights, but mostly due to paranoia but also to knowing fighting will go nowhere. Spoilers Below - Plot - Johnny Cade Johnny Cade first appeared at the beginning of the book when Ponyboy got jumped by the Soc's. He stays away from the fight as before the plot he was jumped by Bob Sheldon and other Soc's. He was beaten badly that he got a scar, and took it so far to always carry a six inch switchblade. Johnny and Ponyboy went to the movies the next night, and met two Soc girls, Marcia and Cherry, which they took an interest with, but went nowhere. While walking home with Two-Bit, the Soc's picked up the two girls, almost starting a fight, and drove off. Johnny and Ponyboy went to Johnny's usual hangout spot, a vacant lot. He stayed there all night to sleep as he didn't enjoy the comfort of his home. While talking, Ponyboy and Johnny fell asleep. They woke up late at midnight, leading to Pony running back home, way past curfew. Johnny stayed at the lot when Ponyboy woke Johnny up to run away. He blindly followed, unknowing why, when Pony explained when they arrived at the park, Ponyboy had been slapped by Darry out of rage, but apologized, but Pony still ran away. The two were confronted by the Soc's, when Ponyboy insulted the Soc's, they were chased and jumped. Johnny was kicked to the ground, while Ponyboy was being drowned by the rest of the Soc's. Out of self-defense, Johnny took out his switchblade and stabbed Bob Sheldon; the same Soc who beat him. The Soc's ran off and Johnny helped Ponyboy out of the fountain. Johnny explained the situation, shaking. He buried the knife and laid out a plan to get away from the police, which was to go to Dally to help them out. Ponyboy and Johnny went to Buck Meril's party where Dally was at. They went inside the place, upstairs to explain the situation to Dally. Dally explained to go on the train, to go out of town to the country to an abandoned church to stay at for a week. He gave Johnny a pistol, and sent them on their way. Johnny and Pony followed his orders and soon arrived at the abandoned church by morning. They stayed there at week, reading, and eating bread. They also disguised themselves by cutting their hair, and Pony had bleached his hair blonde. Dally arrived to the church, and took them to Dairy Queen in his car. Johnny explained he was going to turn himself in, much to Dally's disdain. The three ate at Dairy Queen, and drove back to home, where they saw the church burning down. Pony and Johnny jump out of the car to find out kids are still in there. Johnny and Pony run inside, and Dally stays out to take the children out the window. Pony and Johnny successfully took out every children, but when Johnny comes to go outside, a piece of wood falls on his back. Johnny is sent to the hospital in critical condition. He is unable to move, but is regularly visited by the Greasers, and the parents of the children. The night of the rumble, Pony and Dally visited Johnny, where Johnny finally passed away.
