Second time typing this because I accidentally reloaded the page like an IDIOT. Christina Grimmie has been a part of my life for a long time. She started her career in 2009, and became a YouTube star. She was an amazing person and an amazing singer, and she inspires me to do things I've never dreamed of doing such as auditioning for NBC's the Voice (which didn't work out, but for Christina, I won't give up). She was such a caring and kind person and she'll never be forgotten. On June 10th, 2016, Christina Grimmie was shot three to five times by a 27-year-old man during a meet-and-greet/autograph signing before a concert in Orlando, Florida. The man, who (as far as we know) had no relation to Christina, smuggled two guns, a hunting knife, and extra ammunition past security. The security checked bags and purses but used no metal detectors and did not do pat-downs. As Christina opened her arms to hug the man who she believed was a fan, he opened fire on her. Christina's brother, Mark, tackled the attacker, who proceeded to shoot himself in the head, ending his own life. Mark's heroic act saved many lives and won't be forgotten. Christina was transported to an Orlando hospital, but extremely unfortunately, she passed away because of her wounds. When I awoke to this news yesterday, I was absolutely devastated. Hell, I still haven't stopped crying. Christina was (as I've said multiple times already) such an amazingly kind person. She was never mean to any of her fans, ever. She never made controversial statements. All she did was live her dream while spreading kindness, warmth, joy, and music. This is NOT a reason to be killed. She should NOT have been killed. As I sit here typing, I'm still trying to convince myself this is real. It's just so unbelievable. It's so terrible how a place that is meant to be a safehaven can be turned into such a horrifying and traumatizing experience. I'm still expecting her to post a video saying she's alright. I wish it would happen but deep inside I know it won't.
